Earlier this year, the Sumter County Schools agreed to purchase a new security camera system to be used at the various school buildings as well as passively check for temperature and weapons. The new camera security system will also feature digital face recognition. This is a major investment for the safety of students, faculty, and staff.

The new security camera system will have a demonstration for the Superintendent, BOE, administration, and faculty today at the South Campus. This new camera system at the South Campus according to Wireless Guardian will also be transferrable to the new high school site when students occupy a new building.
